Fall 2022 Season

Thank you for your interest in joining Ignite Soccer Club. Ignite Soccer Club is a nonprofit, volunteer run organization dedicated to developing young athletes to their highest potential both on and off the field. To ensure that Ignite is a good fit for each player, we require all new players to assess before being able to register for Ignite.  We hold formal assessments for all new players in the Fall and Spring season and as-needed for the Indoor Season.

Ignite Soccer Club offers its athletes a competitive environment, while maintaining a fun, family-friendly, community-based culture. Our coaches are supportive, kind, and understand the game is more about life lessons than win/loss records. Ignite offers more than a recreational soccer experience, but less than an academy experience. Ignite is that sweet spot, allowing young athletes to play and develop at a competitive level, and participate in other sports and activities. Ignite is dedicated to keeping the Club small and close-knit, with approximately 12-14 teams and up to 175 players.

Immediately following each assessment, coaches will consider age, skill, and position and send a follow up email.  If invited to participate a registration link will be sent. If your athlete is placed on a team and chooses not to play with Ignite, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing ignitesoccerclubsd@gmail.com .

U10, U12 and U14 Fall Season Assessment

FALL 2022 ASSESSMENT REGISTRATION

Ignite Soccer Club's mission is to develop young athletes to their highest potential both on and off the soccer field.  Ignite provides a unique opportunity to our young athletes in that we provide a “more than Recreation, but less than Academy” soccer experience, while being committed to keeping our Club small and family friendly.  To maintain these core values, assessments have become a necessity for our Club.

Assessments for Fall 2022 will be held at the Ignite Soccer Club fields (1835 Cambell St) on June 15 and July 13 6:00 -7:30. Check-in and warm up will begin at 5:30.  Assessments are for players with birth years of 2007-2014.  Groups will be formed based on ages and gender if needed.

Pre-registration for Assessments is REQUIRED using this link.  No walk-ups will be allowed.

Players need to only attend ONE of the two sessions.

If your player is unable to attend one of the Assessments, please complete the Assessment form.  Make-up assessments will be handled on an individual basis for any interested and qualified players after the Assessment deadline.

The purpose of Assessments is for our coaches to evaluate the skill level of each player to ensure your player is placed on the appropriate team, allowing your player to grow, develop, and improve.

Results of the Assessments will be communicated via email the week and if invited to play a registration link will be provided.  Please register immediately to ensure you get your uniform in time for fall.

There is no cost to attend the Assessment Session, but it is REQUIRED to register and play for Fall 2022.

Players with birth years 2015 and younger do NOT need to attend the Assessment.  If you have a player born in 2015 that you would like to be considered to play up on a U10 teams, please contact us.

A link for Fall registration will be provided and MUST be completed by July 1st, 2022. The registration link will only be provided to players that have filled out the Assessment Form. It currently takes 8 weeks for our uniforms to process.  Any registration after this date will have a delay in receiving their uniforms.

In addition to the season fee all players are required to purchase an annual player card and a uniform package through Score Sports.

Ignite Soccer Club is transitioning into more of a tournament-based club - meaning less league games.  Tournament fees run between $40 and $75 plus any travel costs.

We are very excited for what the future holds for not only our players but our Club!

OUTDOOR PRACTICE

Ignite currently practices at Cambell St fields which are located at 1835 Cambell St.  For U10 and above we practice two times a week, typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 60-75 minutes.  Our U14 teams also may practice on Mondays.  U8 and U6 teams practice one night a week, typically on Tuesdays or Thursdays for 45-60 minutes.

At Ignite we not only support but encourage our players to play other sports if the interest is there.  However, we do ask that your player be able to commit to at least one practice per week.  Practice is an essential part of player and team development.

TOURNAMENTS and GAMES

  • Ignite intends to play 1-2 local tournaments and 2-3 travel/regional tournaments.

  • Ignite may also schedule some local, developmental games for each team.

  • All tournaments require a tournament entry fee, which is split evenly between players at approximately $30-$60/player. Invoices will be sent via SportsEngine.

  • Not all players will be selected to play on every tournament team. There are a lot of factors that go into the rostering process and Ignite asks that its parents support and respect the decisions of the coaches when tournament teams are finalized. Coaches are always available to answer questions.

  • Not all teams will play in every tournament. Again, this is at the coach’s discretion and judgement.

PLAYER AND PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Ignite requires all families to read and sign a Player and Parent Code of Conduct each year. It is important and part of the Club’s core values to hold sportsmanship to the highest level. Ignite understands that everyone experiences moments of frustration, and it is our goal as a Club to help our young players effectively deal with the frustration and emotions that come with competitive sports. It is important that parents partner with us in this endeavor. The signed version will be available during registration and an online version can be found on our website.

Again, we thank you for showing interest in our small but growing club. We appreciate your support and your trust in us! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Also, if you are unable to attend a scheduled assessment, please send an email to set up another time.
